When you look at this lovely house in the welsh countryside
There are breathtaking beaches, magnificent buildings and little havens of such beauty they could come right out of the pages of a fantasy novel. From top to bottom, east to west, there are so many fairy-tale views you have to try REALLY hard to remember they're not figments of someone's imagination. Go to Gwynedd and find the Mediterranean when you visit the Italianate village that is Portmeirion. This countryside burrow in Wales is the perfect staycation spot
Thank you for such an amazing experience! Everything exceeded our expectations there is not a bad word I could say. Jude and Hayden are warm welcoming people and defiantly made us feel at home. I can not wait to return in the near future thank you for such a great time. The scenery is fantastic with a great view of the mountains on one side and the horses and stables on the other. Thanks again guys. Thank you for making our stay everything we hoped for and needed. Everything was lovely down to the little touches like having the candles lit for our arrival.
Communication was fantastic and the welcome we received made us feel right at home and comfortable to ask any questions about the area! Myself and partner thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hosts were so welcoming and nothing was ever too much trouble. The house itself was so clean and warm. When we arrived the hot tub was warm, the heating was on, candles lit and it felt so homely!
We had so much information about the local area and the amenities were fantastic. We will definitely be booking again soon! Thank you so much both!
Had a lovely few days here for my partners birthday. We were given plenty of information before hand regarding directions and then greeted by the host on arrival who was very welcoming and friendly. Thankyou, we loved our stay. Stayed at this beautiful lodge for a weekend to celebrate my partners birthday. Absolutely perfect if wanting to take a step back from day to day life and enjoy a countryside break.
The hosts were so helpful from the get go and happy to answer any questions. We were greeted on arrival and Hadyn brought the humour, had us laughing and feeling right at ease from the start. Showed us around and reassured us that we could approach them at any point during our stay. The lodge was warm and they had a candle lit when we arrived so it instantly just felt so cosy.
The hot tub was just as described and had been pre heated for when we got there. Huge thank you to Jude and Hadyn, would highly recommend! What a beautiful little escape from the real world! Cosy, quaint and well equipped for a cosy weekend in or the perfect base to see some of the beautiful Snowdonia National Park and other surrounding areas. Thank you Jude and Hadyn xx. Jude's cottage is lovely, homely, clean and has all the amenities you could need.
Parking is great. The host offers a warm welcome and was always easy to contact before the visit. Perfect retreat for couples. Such a beautiful spot - peaceful, tranquil and hidden! The cabin had everything I needed and I was nice and snug even in chilly evenings and night times. A perfect place to get away from things - no phone signal or WiFi was a real bonus for me.
I visited alone and loved having the place to myself - especially my outdoor bath under the stars! Stuart was a great host and really welcoming. Would definitely return - either on my own or with friends. Thank you Stuart! If you like a quirky place to stay then you will love this.
A series of wooden cabins and tree house, it is certainly not a conventional holiday let. But we loved it and will definitely come back again. Stuart is a very friendly and helpful host and communication was very easy. A highlight for us was the bath with an unhindered view of the river ie no wall or window You may think this might be a bit drafty, but we loved it after our swim in the river on a wet day in March. The shower also does not have a roof, and there is a second bath that is completely outdoors.
Lots of hot water too. Shame we didnt find time for the sauna. The main bedroom cabins were warm and cosy and we had a comfortable nights sleep listening to the rain and the river. If you're looking for a holiday home with a difference, then this is the place for you. Red hot outdoor bath was superb Stuart gave us a lift to the dam due to weather conditions with excellent advice on the return walk home My partner and I drove for 6 hours to reach Stuarts place for a one night stay, but it was worth every minute of the drive.
Following Stuarts direction to the property made finding the accomodation a breeze. We were warmly welcomed with a glass of Pinot, pleasant conversation, followed by a tour of the grounds.
We unfortunately arrived during storm Dennis, so as expected the pathways were very muddy and slippery, but this did not spoil our experience, the cabins have stunning views of the river that runs through Stuarts land, it has to be seen to be believed.
We stayed in the main cabin, it is far from a shed but a properly built log cabin that kept us dry and warm! The whole place is very cute and cosy. The kitchen was well supplied with plates and cooking accessories and the bedroom has a small TV with a big choice of VHS to choose from Bathing outside in the storm is an experience I will never forget, and bathing in the skypod in the morning with the river running directly in front of you is simply amazing.
Stuarts house is closer than it appears in photos, however it is downhill of the cabins offering privacy. When we checked out we were kindly offered a cup of tea which we turned down as we had a long drive ahead, however Stuart made a point of insisting we visit the Lake and Dam, and we are thrilled he did so, as this was simply stunning.
We can't wait to experience Stuarts property again in the warmer and dryer weather!. Had a brilliant time away at Stuarts place! Definitely recommend this to my friends and family, beautiful place with the most beautiful surroundings, would come back again in a heart beat! Great time, and super host! The lodge on the lake is ideal for a couples getaway.
We had enough space to store our luggage, and the pull out bed was easy to use and a great use of space. The hot tub is fantastic and we spent most of the weekend bubbling away. Even when it was colder at night outside it was still worth the short dash to the hot tub!
The wifi was excellent and meant we could use netflix with ease. There is a handbook which tells you how to use everything and includes some local activities. We would happily stay here again! Owen's place was great - the hot tub was a particular highlight, even in the windy weather of Storm Ciara! Quiet little hut with hot tub by a small lake with beautiful view - perfect for relaxation! My partner and I had such a lovely long weekend here!
Needed a relaxing break to escape the real world for a little bit and this was the perfect place. Hot tub was great and the cooking facilities were perfect, cooked some steak which we brought from the farm shop which is 2 minutes up the road! No oven but not an issue to us! Remote area which is ideal! We have no complaints whatsoever. Thank you for a wonderful weekend. The cabin on the lake is wonderful setting, off the beaten track but not feeling remote.
Excellent wi-fi, hot tub was amazing and my only negative was that there is no oven! Lodge on the lake was very peaceful just what you need for a relaxing getaway. The cabin was very clean and to our expectations. It had all the cooking facilities you need to cook with. The shop is a little pricey so do a small shop before hand. Would definatley recommend staying here and I'm sure well be back. Genuinely couldn't have had a better weekend and would heartily recommend this place to anyone.
Highly recommended. Perfect spot to explore the Pembrokeshire coast and the Preseli hills. Can recommend the butchers in Newport, the Shed at Porthgain, and the bluestone brewery! Joanna's place is idyllic, wonderfully located and beautifully laid out. Perfect for a cosy get away somewhere relaxing. The cottage had everything we needed and had beautiful views of the surrounding areas. A lovely cottage, a warm welcome on arrival.
The space was well equipped and spotless.

A property was booked in Mid Wales 43 minutes ago. Thank you for showing interest. We haven't quite finished building this feature but please check back soon for updates. We had a family weekend away and this was the perfect place for everyone, we had ages from 3 months up to 87 years old! The pool table was brilliant, as well as the large lounge area Just wish they would of been a heater in there for the cooler evenings, there was 2 fans but only blew out cold air.

Arrived early and warmly greeted by 'Ralph' who took the time to explain the workings of the property. Lovely warm house in a beautiful wooded spot. Loved the design, especially the wet rooms attached to the two bedrooms. Comfortable beds and a kitchen with everything in place. Wonderful walks straight from the front door and an abundance of wild life.
The California-style dream home in the Welsh countryside
We feel so fortunate to have come across the Tan-y-Foel when we were looking for a last-minute break. On arrival and seeing the country guest house and its grounds it literally took our breath away, surrounded by beautiful scenic views whichever direction we looked. Maria and Chris are outstanding hosts and made us very welcome from the outset. Nothing was too much trouble and their knowledge and experience of Wales was a great help to us in deciding what to do and where to go. It was a delight to meet other guests too, over Chris's delicious breakfasts and share experiences of the previous day's outings.

This house really exceeded my expectations and we really felt at home, ample space for a family getaway, with a beautiful view of the golf course. The house is immaculately clean with a modern touch and warm homely feel. Very convenient for the local facilities, with the beach a few minutes down the road and supermarkets only a 4 minute drive away.
